Dream… Give… Inspire.

WARNING: this will be one of the top 5 videos that you will watch
this Holiday Season… if not… this entire year.

I’ve said before that if churches can’t get a few things right…
they are doomed.
One of those things is Christmas.
In a season of giving…
if the church does not give…
who will?

Then again…
if the church doesn’t give all year long…
who will?

Am I saying that churches need to get people gifts like West Jet?
No… not at all.
But there is something about what West Jet has done…
that inspires… and makes me hope that the next city I fly out of has West Jet.

The video above took a lot to pull off…
more than just money…
it took over 150 volunteers…
12 hidden cameras…
and 3 different airports.

But it also took a dream… a vision… an inspiration.
I think it’s time the church dreams like this!
Not just the local church… but the universal church…
Christians all around the world… dreaming of giving and reaching the world.

After all… isn’t that what God did when He sent His Son Jesus into the world?
He dreamed of you.
He dreamed of me.
He dreamed of us living with Him… forever.
So He rescued us by showing us how to give.

Isaiah 11:1-10
Out of the stump of David’s family will grow a shoot—
yes, a new Branch bearing fruit from the old root.
2 And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—
the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and might,
the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
3 He will delight in obeying the Lord.
He will not judge by appearance
nor make a decision based on hearsay.
4 He will give justice to the poor
and make fair decisions for the exploited.
The earth will shake at the force of his word,
and one breath from his mouth will destroy the wicked.
5 He will wear righteousness like a belt
    and truth like an undergarment.
6 In that day the wolf and the lamb will live together;
the leopard will lie down with the baby goat.
The calf and the yearling will be safe with the lion,
and a little child will lead them all.
7 The cow will graze near the bear.
The cub and the calf will lie down together.
The lion will eat hay like a cow.
8 The baby will play safely near the hole of a cobra.
Yes, a little child will put its hand in a nest of deadly snakes without harm.
9 Nothing will hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain,
for as the waters fill the sea,
so the earth will be filled with people who know the Lord.
10 In that day the heir to David’s throne
will be a banner of salvation to all the world.
The nations will rally to him,
and the land where he lives will be a glorious place.

If that is not a dream that inspires… I don’t know what is.
It was a dream to save the world… a dream to make the world glorious.
“And the land where he lives will be a glorious place.”
Isn’t that what we all want… a better world?
Well… that is what Jesus came to give us.
And that is why we celebrate His birth at Christmas by giving.

I don’t know about you… but this time of year… I love to give.
I’m not always good at it… but I love to do it.
And this Christmas… I want to give all of you that enjoy my blog a gift…
it’s not much… so don’t get too excited…
but this Christmas I would like to give you what I am calling…
#TwelveDaysOfBlogging.

That’s right… from December 12th to December 24th…
I promise you a post a day.
So in 2 days from now…
come back for Day 1 of #TwelveDaysOfBlogging.

In the meantime…
Don’t procrastinate dreaming.
Dream to give and I promise you will inspire.

When was a time that you were really inspired?
What were you inspired to do?

Did you follow through with your inspiration?
