Angel Tree

Every year my church does this program called “Angel Tree”.
It’s one of my favorite things we do.
It reminds us of the least of these.

There are 1.7 million children that have at least one parent incarcerated in the United States.
1.7 million!

If you know much about the statistics…
you know that of those 1.7 million kids…
60-80 percent of them will follow in their parent’s footsteps.
Unless… we reach them with the Good News.

Angel Tree is doing just that.
Tags are handed out…
Children are sponsored…
Gifts are bought…
Gifts are given…
Not from the people that purchased them…
But from the parent…
in prison.

This is not my church’s idea.
It’s a program done by Prison Fellowship.

Anytime we can remember “the least of these”…
we become better for it.
I don’t know about you…
but for me it is always easier to remember “the lease of these” at Christmas time.

Christmas is quickly approaching…
as you try your best to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the Holiday season…
Don’t procrastinate remembering “the least of these”.

Matthew 25

‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink?
Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing?
When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?

‘And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least

of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

What is your favorite holiday tradition?

When was the last time you helped someone in need?
