It’s not difficult to find motivating quotes these days.
Thank you Pintrest… even though I believe you take away from our creativity.
Yesterday my pastor and I were having a discussion.
A discussion that inspired a Pintrest search…
the first Pintrest search I have ever done.
Here were my top three favorite quotes from my search…
Now… back to my discussion with my pastor.
We weren’t talking about cross training exercises…
we were actually talking about drinking.
In today’s culture… taking a stand takes discipline.
We just so happened to be talking about taking a stand on drinking.
Realizing that some people and churches take a stand against drinking…
and others simply do not.
Here was my conclusion from our discussion…
I would rather error on the side of discipline.
This has not always been my mindset.
In fact… there have been times I have been flat out reckless.
As I get older… I realize… discipline is one of the most admirable characteristics anyone can posses.
Discipline in working out and getting fit…
(which seems to be the most popular form of discipline on Pintrest).
Discipline to read a book all the way through.
Discipline to hold to convictions.
Discipline to get up everyday and live life with responsibility.
It doesn’t matter what form of discipline.
It’s a characteristic that we cannot procrastinate.
If we do… we will suffer the pain of regret.
The book of Proverbs was written for us to find discipline.
Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives,
to help them do what is right, just, and fair.
What discipline are you working on right now?
What is something you wish you could be more disciplined in?
What is a discipline that you rock at?
