There is nothing in the Bible that says that you cannot build a fort in church.
But let’s be honest… if running in church was frowned upon… then so is building a fort.
Although I haven’t really found one about not running in church either.
Truth is… the church building is the house of God.
It’s a place of reverence… respect… and worship.
These are reasons we say things like “No running in church” or “You can’t build a fort in church.”
So then why did I find this…
I’ll tell you why…
Because God can’t be put into a box.
I think it’s dangerous for us to say… the only way to worship God is this way or that way.
The Bible gives us our stipulations for worship…
23 But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. 24 For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”
The reason we can say this…. is because these were the words of Jesus.
This is how God desires to be worshiped.
In spirit… with all of our heart… with all of our soul… with who we are.
In truth… according to who He is… what He has done… and everything that He truly is.The picture above is one of the many things my pastor is doing in preparation for Easter Sunday.
It’s not a fort… it’s a tomb.
It symbolizes the tomb that Jesus was buried in… then arose out of… giving us reason to worship Him… in spirit… and in truth.
