What is a Philanthropic Cause?

Today… we end our series covering the 5 Purposes of a man.
I hope it has been as good for you as it has for me.
In the end… I hope it has made you a better man… or the men in you life better (for all the ladies).

Today’s Purpose is another good one… A Philanthropic cause.
What is a Philanthropic Cause?
I’m glad you asked… however… you are asking the wrong person.
These are are people you should be asking.
Live 58.

Live 58 is the definition of a philanthropic cause.
Their mission is to end extreme poverty.
Their mission is based on a promise.
The promise of Isaiah 58:

10 Feed the hungry,
      and help those in trouble.
Then your light will shine out from the darkness,
and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.
11 The Lord will guide you continually,
giving you water when you are dry
      and restoring your strength.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
      like an ever-flowing spring.
12 Some of you will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities.
Then you will be known as a rebuilder of walls
      and a restorer of homes.

When you have time… I would encourage you to read Isaiah 58 in it’s entirety.
It is so rich.
It really gives perspective on the purpose of fasting.
But not just that… it describes what a philanthropic cause is.

Live 58 is doing everything it can to live out the Philanthropical cause of Isaiah 58.
They recently released a film on exactly how they believe ending extreme poverty is possible.

The reason men have a desire to help someone…. is it’s in their nature.
It doesn’t matter what your belief system is… you want to help.
Men realize… it’s not just about being a man… it’s about being a human being.
This is ingrained within the fiber of every man.

I hope that we can see extreme poverty in my lifetime.
I hope that my generation can help solve this problem so my kid’s generation can experience freedom from poverty.
Seems impossible huh?
Maybe it’s time we start to live out Isaiah 58.
Has someone ever helped you out?
Please share your story.
